It was a beautiful Sunday Morning.
I had the desire for a
nice, comforting,
delicious meal
for dinner.
Easy, chop up an onion,
in the food processor,
mince a few garlic
cloves, throw in some
dried oregeno, cumin,
green chillies, a little
cayenne, cut up some
fresh chicken, and lastly,
some boiled and simmered,
great northern beans
with the water and broth.
Voilla!
Too easy, right?
Ready, set, start the crockpot,
leave it to stew and fill
the house with simply
a familiar, yet
beautiful, magical (hence the beans) aroma.
Head off to church with the
family for 3 hours.
Just thinking, oh when we get home
our lovely White Chili will be
ready in only a couple of
hours after arriving there.
I was imagining dipping
my corn chips into the
delectable sour cream,
shredded cheese,
maybe even a lttle salsa
and finally, the prized chili.
Pure bliss to a large and in charge
pregnant woman.
The beans failed me :(
24 hours later after starting this
whole process I am still breathing
in this tantalizing,
irristable aroma.
Cruel!
The beans are inedible.
sad, sad, sad :(
NOTHING should
EVER get in the way of
a pregnant womans
plans to feast
on scrumptious food.
WHY??
I ask myself.
Why out of all
the times I've made this
dish, did it fail me
for the first time?
Thank you internet
this is what I found:
It's all making sense now.
Since moving
into our new home I have
noticed all of the following:
*Our clothes did not
smell as fresh as usual
when doing laundry.
*Spots on the dishes
*Only lately did I notice my hair
is not shiny like it used to be.
(I just chalked that last one
up to getting older).
and finally
*The beans, NEVER cooked :(
I can deal with the first 3 issues
with the hard water,
but when it comes to my food,
I draw the line!
Do NOT mess with my food!
I am mad at you hard water!
Only look and smell,
but you can't eat it!
