Christmas Eve 2010

Christmas Eve in
England!

Dinner, TOO much
dessert!
Wearing
their new pajamas
they get to open on
Christmas Eve.
This year I decided to
start one more tradition of
opening an ornament
on Christmas Eve.
Marked with their name
and year on the bottom!

Where is Santa Right now?!

Merry Christmas Eve!

School Christmas Production

We were so excited
to watch the boys
do so well in their performances.

There is nothing more impressive
and fun to watch
then a primary
school's
play!

I think most
parents couldn't
stop smiling
through it all.

Kyle was a Fisherman
and LJ was a
Shepherd/Narrator!

We DESPERATELY need
a NEW camera, UGH!

Sassy Wahine

Here is our little,
extremely busy girl!

She is holding our
little address/phonebook
while talking on my cell phone.
Funny enough, I think she's
imitating her dad, not me!
He's usually seen
with that little book
more than I am!

Does anyone
else have the urge
to brush her bangs
out of her face?!
I wasn't there to do it
this time around!

'Tis the Season!

In the snow!
Fun!
We've already
had our fair share of
snow here.
It is also freezing cold here!
Every winter seems to get
colder to me.  I'm happy
to have help with my internal
heating this winter
it seems colder then I remember!!

We had some gingerbread fun!
The boys did a fabulous job
and we couldn't have
a better centerpiece
this christmas
for the table!

Rushton Hall Lunch

Had a lovely
Christmas lunch
with great friends
from the village here!
The only problem
was  that I forgot
to bring my camera,
so here's a link
and a picture I took from
their website.
Great way to start the season.
Merry Christmas!

Aston Villa v. Arsenal

Their first premier league
football match
to attend.
LJ was queitly
going for Arsenal.
When they bought
the tickets
they were told
they were not allowed to
support Arsenal
because it was
at Aston Villa's
stadium.
Apparantly LJ
put his hands up and
cheered when Arsenal
scored...
woops!
Fortunately they
didn't get kicked out of
the game for this.
They had loads of fun.
I can't wait to go to a
premier game as well!
Good times!

Thanksgiving 2010

Turkey Day!

The men, by the meat.
Luke's glasses were
broken, courtesy of
Brookie :)

The Kids

The ladies.

We had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving
at our friends house.  The food and company
were fabulous.

Living in England the kids don't
get school off for this holiday,
because it is not celebrated here.
I was invited into Kyle's classroom
to teach a little bit about
Thanksgiving.  I brought
in a pumpkin pie
and the kids very impressively
gave it a try.
It was very fun watching
so many people, including
the teachers try pumpkin
pie for their first time!
Many people liked it, while
some would be
perfectly happy to
live without it.
It was a really fun
experience for
Kyle and me!

Happy Day :o)

Local Soccer Match

The boys all
went out

a good time and can't
 wait to go again sometime.

I think I'm still in denial
that he's home!

True to Form

I happen to be married to a
man, who is not only a
wonderful husband,
but also pretty much
one of the coolest dad's
out there!

I was sidetracked today
looking through our
family pictures
and came across this one.
Had to make it the
background on our
computer!

This is not just a one
time occurence either.
It is simply,
true to form in
our household.

The Beans that Failed us All!

It was a beautiful Sunday Morning.
I had the desire for a
nice, comforting,
delicious meal
for dinner.

Easy, chop up an onion,
in the food processor,
mince a few garlic
cloves, throw in some
dried oregeno, cumin,
green chillies, a little
cayenne, cut up some
fresh chicken, and lastly,
some boiled and simmered,
 great northern beans
with the water and broth.
Voilla!
Too easy, right?

Ready, set, start the crockpot,
leave it to stew and fill
the house with simply
a familiar, yet
beautiful, magical (hence the beans) aroma.

Head off to church with the
family for 3 hours.
Just thinking, oh when we get home
our lovely White Chili will be
ready in only a couple of
hours after arriving there.

I was imagining dipping
my corn chips into the
delectable sour cream,
shredded cheese,
maybe even a lttle salsa
and finally, the prized chili.
Pure bliss to a large and in charge
pregnant woman.

The beans failed me :(
24 hours later after starting this
whole process I am still breathing
in this tantalizing,
irristable aroma.
Cruel!

The beans are inedible.
sad, sad, sad :(

NOTHING should
EVER get in the way of
a pregnant womans
plans to feast
on scrumptious food.

WHY??
I ask myself.
Why out of all
the times I've made this
dish, did it fail me
for the first time?

Thank you internet
this is what I found:

It's all making sense now.
Since moving
into our new home I have
noticed all of the following:

*Our clothes did not
smell as fresh as usual
when doing laundry.
*Spots on the dishes
*Only lately did I notice my hair
is not shiny like it used to be.
(I just chalked that last one
up to getting older).
and finally
*The beans, NEVER cooked :(

I can deal with the first 3 issues
with the hard water,
but when it comes to my food,
I draw the line!
Do NOT mess with my food!
I am mad at you hard water!

Only look and smell,
but you can't eat it!

Stylin'

First Oreo

Is it bad or good that she's had her first Oreo at nearly 1.5 years old???

School starts again!

Can't believe how quickly the year has flown by!  Has school really started up again already?!

Barcelona

My favorite part of Barcelona was by far the SUNSHINE!!!!!!!  (and the Horchata, YUM, my favorite drink!)  I LOVE the sun, I LOVE the beach, oh how I've missed you both!!!  There is nothing like waking up at 7 am and seeing the sun already coming out for the day, wow, what a breath of fresh air!
There is something about the sun that is healing
to your soul!
Thank you sun, for making our
mini vacation
fabuloso!
I think I can now hold out for a little
while longer until we see the sun again :o)

I think I would be in BIG
trouble if I didn't mention
that the football (soccer) jersey is
Lionel Messi's!

Didn't do much sight seeing,
it's a little harder with the kids.
We were perfectly happy roasting
away on the beach and
and playing in the ocean!

It would be fair to say
we all enjoyed Barcelona.

Pizza from Scratch, YUM

My sister gave me this recipe that I had been meaning to try for ages.  Finally did it!  In our house, as I'm sure in many other's, Friday night is pizza and movie night!  This time it was extra fun involving the kids to make their own personal pizza's!  I did the crust, (which was a little extra time, but there's nothing like home made crust) and they did their toppings.

Fun on a Friday, if you're
feeling energetic!

Three Front Teeth!

For some odd reason
the tooth fairy has been
acting strangely since
dad has been out of town!
The last tooth that was lost
the tooth fairy never
even showed up...
well until about 30 minutes
after waking up and eating
breakfast...
somehow the tooth fairy
snuck in during that time.
But, wait!
I was told there was
a BIG problem!
The tooth fairy did
NOT take the tooth!
"MOM!!!  YOU did it!
Just admit it, it was YOU!"
I never would
admit to such a thing!
I simply have no
idea what has gotten
into the tooth fairy!
